Iran attacks Israel

Iran attacks Israel
Ahmad R Taheri, in an interview with Hamoon News, said: The Islamic Republic of Iran has maintained a non-aggressive stance towards other nations, however reserving its defensive actions when its sovereignty is threatend.

Notably, Iran stands alone among the Middle Eastern states in actively opposing American military presence in the region.

Israel’s targeted killings of key figures such as Fakhrizadeh, Haniyeh and Hassan Nasrallah were orchestrated attempts to provoke Iran into a war that would face the US and other Western states. However, Iran has demonstrated caution.

Whenever Israel infringed upon Iran’s sovereignty [targeted killings inside Iran], the Western world offered negligible efforts to prevent such Israeli assassinations. Consequently, Iran asserts its legal right to self-defense and, through its recent retaliatory strike on Israel has defended itself.

Yet, it is too early to foresee the repercussions of Iran’s latest actions, but in my opinion, if the Western world acts prudently the recent developments will not lead to direct confrontation between Iran and Israel. Nevertheless, proxy conflicts and targeted assassinations may persist in the ongoing struggle between the two states.
